Mercury Vapor black lights are used in applications that require a large amount of focused ultraviolet light. They are not typical in residential locations, since fixtures that support Mercury bulbs are more expensive than normal fixtures. This style of black light is primarily used in stage lighting for music concerts and plays, but can certainly be used in a wide variety of places.
