| More Information on High and Low Pressure Sodium HID Light Bulbs: |
|
High Pressure Sodium light bulbs are still a viable option for certain outdoor lighting applications and are somewhat less expensive than newer technologies like metal halides. High Pressure Sodium and Low Pressure Sodium bulbs do have a lower color rendering index, so items viewed beneath these bulbs will have a subdued color and will look very differently than if viewed under the noon sun. One of the most common applications for HPS bulbs is in road and highway lighting. Other places you may find these bulbs are when you are looking at parking lot lights and warehouse lights.
