Spot and flood versions of the new GE CMH 20-watt PAR 20 and GE CMH 20-watt PAR 30 lamps, evaluated against halogen lamps, provide as much as twice the light output, up to three times the rated life and as little as half the energy consumption.
New GE 130V Silver Saver Halogen PAR lamps deliver as much as a 12 percent reduction in energy costs and 20 percent longer life when compared to standard and halogen-plus 130V PAR lamps with similar light output.
The use of GE Retail HIR lamps instead of standard halogen PAR lamps nets up to 27 percent energy savings and more than double the rated life. GE Tetra BT, a new energy-efficient LED border tube system designed by GELcore, offers up to 80 percent energy savings and significant reductions in maintenance costs as a replacement for neon in interior and exterior border lighting applications.
The newly expanded line of GE compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) affords hotel operators the opportunity to fill every guestroom light socket with energy-efficient GE CFLs, and cut energy costs by as much as 77 percent with CFL-for-incandescent swaps. New GE CFL products offering up to 10 times the life of incandescent lamps include the 15/25/32-watt 3-Way Spiral; the new 15-watt R30 and 26-watt R40 Dimming Reflectors; and five smaller Mini Biax and Mini A-Line lamps. The 42-watt Spiral, winner of a 2003 Platinum ADEX Award, was introduced in 2003.
Facility managers can realize up to 44 percent energy savings and longer lamp life by replacing outdated T-12 technology with GE's F28 UltraMax system. Property managers of office and industrial buildings, warehouses, retail chains, schools, hospitals and government buildings have more choices than ever when it comes to putting GE F28T8 UltraMax lamps in existing T8 fixtures for greater energy efficiency. Designed for optimal performance on the exclusive GE UltraMax ballast, the GE F28T8 UltraMax lamp now also is endorsed by GE for use on any ANSI-approved instant-start T8 ballast with an open-circuit voltage greater than 525V.
The new GE High-Watt 250-400 Electronic HID Ballast for commercial and industrial end-users is the first of a new family of GE electronic HID ballasts. It helps deliver up to 23 percent energy savings when paired with 350- or 320-watt CMH lamps instead of standard 400-watt metal halide lamps.
Industrial and Warehousing
An open-rated GE 250-watt PA SPXX CMH lamp that gives retail, grocery and gas/convenience store chains, as well as industrial end-users several reasons to replace 400-watt standard metal halide lamps is scheduled for availability in late 2004. Among its numerous advantages will be more color consistency, higher color rendering, lower wattage (saving 150 watts per lamp) and superior lumen maintenance (85 percent versus 70 percent) when compared to standard 400-watt metal halide.
Customers can gain up to 13 percent energy savings, longer life and truer color rendering when replacing standard 400-watt metal halide lamps with GE's 350-watt ceramic metal halide lamps with higher mean lumens.
"Our goal in the coming year is simple," explains Petras. "We are linking market needs with the new energy-efficient GE products we've developed especially for these markets. Our message is equally straightforward: Saving energy is good business."
