Technical Consumer Products, Inc. was formally incorporated in February 1993 with major concentration in the compact fluorescent lighting marketplace (CFL). The CFL business continued to grow primarily as an OEM supplier to major U.S. companies such as General Electric, Osram Sylvania, Thomas and Betts, Lithonia, ProLight and others.
This OEM business carried on until 1996, when two significant technologies were discovered, the SpringLamp design and the dimming ballast. TCP recognized that these new products offered huge application benefits to the industry, which resulted in a business decision to begin marketing direct to the industry under the trade name "TCP". This decision proved to be highly successful for the Company.
Since 1997, TCP products have been available through select distribution channels to the industry. Authorized sales agents are employed to ensure Total Customer Service.
TCP's prime manufacturing, coupled with raw material global procurement and superior engineering, has accelerated TCP to the forefront of the energy saving lighting market. TCP is universally known for its high quality product, innovative designs and ultimate manufacturing control.
TCP offers its product to several market segments. The Company's historical business is primarily commercial/industrial applications through distribution. Typically, hospitality markets including hotel/motel and restaurants are the largest single segment. In this segment, customers enjoy the high light output and long life features of TCP's product, as well as the energy efficiency resulting in cost savings over the life of the product.
More recently, the success in the commercial and industrial segments was further augmented by TCP's entrance into the consumer segment through retail, offering a competitive product that is designed to fit residential applications, yet provide industrial quality for a premium value product.
TCP's prospective buyers are the owners of every single incandescent light socket in North America. It is TCP's intention to provide a product for every socket available in both the residential and commercial/industrial market.
TCP specializes in an inredible variety of compact fluorescent light bulbs for every application. They have twist styles (large and mini), floods, globes, decorative-candelabra base, and even some fluorescent ballasts. They produce CFL's with or without a screw-in base for optimal functionality.
Constant innovation, new product development and quality throughout the manufacturing process contribute to TCP's emergence as a leader in our industry. They are able to identify the customer's needs and follow through with the introduction of new technologies that offer better solutions to meet these needs.
