Lighting Library : Non-Halogen Flood : 65BR30 Long Life Flood Light Bulbs

It's probably been one of the most commonly used bulbs over the past ten years after federal energy legislation made the 75 watt version unavailable.  The reason is to save energy and the 65 watt BR30 has an improved reflector shape which will give the same amount of light for 10 less watts.  After that need was filled, many people wanted the lamps to last longer as well.  One of the best improvements for this lamps was when they were developed with an extra long life, up to 10,000 hours average rated life.  People have always wanted light bulbs to last longer and not have to change them so often, that's why we offer 65BR30 long life flood light bulbs as a part of our selection. Common to almost every type of lighting application has been the flood light bulbs that you buy for recessed or track lighting. These are the BR30 or R30 size bulbs which you might be familiar with, the ones you've probably bought for years in hardware stores and are 3 3/4 inches across the face.  The R30 shape was one of the first designs of flood lights and continues to still be the one most people use.  They fit in almost any recessed light fixture, but one of the most common places that it's used are in track lighting for retail stores.  There are some these lamps on the market with a much shorter life and may look like these but they don't have the super long life that these do.  Most of the store bought ones are a mere 1000 hours or maybe 1500 hours.  Think of the savings in not having to buy bulbs so often or to even change them much.

Incandescent lamps are the type that were developed earliest of any of the other kinds and these progressed into all kinds of floods and the one we know as 65BR30 long life flood light bulbs.  The long life bulbs are the same physical size as other flood lamps but have multiple filament supports that protect against vibration and rough use.  In fact, these are sometimes called rough service or vibration service bulbs by some people.  If you're a commercial user, then 65BR30 long life flood would be a great choice for many of the applications you have today.  Large commercial buildings are still a major user of this lamp where the labor to change out bulbs can get quite expensive.  The savings in this case can be quite extensive resulting in a quick payback on the higher cost of these bulbs.  Of course, tenant considerations are also a factor as no one wants to see lights out in a building for safety reasons.  If you have incandescent lamps anywhere in your building, they can be susceptible to vibration of slamming doors or machines being turned on and off.  These are also great lamps to be used in industrial situations on machines or in areas where manufacturing is going on.  So what you get is a long lasting lamp while maintaining the same look as what you had before, it's truly a win-win situation.  One thing to keep in mind is that because these have a krypton gas fill and 130 volt, they are slightly dimmer than the ones you may have now.  Be advised that if the light level is truly critical, then you may want to consider something else, but if it's not, then you might as well get the longest life you can.  You could replace a standard 65BR30 flood light ten times before you replace this one once.  That's a tremendous savings over the life of this great light.

If you've decided on ServiceLighting.com, you've made an excellent choice for good lighting and you're in good company. From your local retailer to finer homes to industrial lighting, you will most likely find these 65BR30 long life flood light bulbs lighting your way.  It's easy to order these from our online lighting store and you will get them in a few days shipped from our warehouse in Minnesota. Remember that there are many types of bulbs, we describe just some of the most common used in retail and commercial lighting here.  Whatever type you choose, you will be getting the highest quality and the most light you can for your money.  If you need help identifying a bulb, our customer service representatives can help you determine what you have.
