One of the best innovations in lighting occurred many years ago when flood
lights were developed with an extra long life, up to 10,000 hours average rated
life! People have always wanted light bulbs to last longer and not have to change
them so often, that's why we offer BR30 long life flood light bulbs as a part of our
selection.
Common to almost every type of lighting application has been the flood light bulbs
that you buy for recessed or track lighting. These are the BR30 or R30 size bulbs which you might be familiar with,
the ones you've probably bought for years in hardware stores and are 3 3/4
inches across the face. The R30
shape was one of the first designs of flood lights and continues to still be the one most people
use. They fit in almost any recessed light fixture, but one of the most common
places that it's used are in track lighting for retail stores. It has a
standard medium base and screws into sockets that are made for all kinds of US
lighting. These come in 65 watts or 85 watts referenced as 65BR30 or
85BR30. There are some these lamps on the market and may look like these
but they don't have the super long life that these do.
Incandescent lamps are the type that were developed earliest of any of the other
kinds and these progressed into what we know as BR30 long life flood light bulbs.
It's a long history with this lamp and most of the improvements
have come with longer life versions of these lamps. The long life bulbs are the same physical size
as other flood lamps but have multiple filament supports that protect
against vibration and rough use. In fact, these are sometimes called rough
service or vibration service bulbs. If you're a commercial user, then BR30 long life light bulbs would be a great choice for many of the applications you
have today. Large commercial buildings are still a major user of this lamp
where the labor to change out bulbs can get quite expensive. The savings
in this case can be quite extensive resulting in a quick payback on the higher
cost of these bulbs. Of course, tenant considerations are also a factor as
no one wants to see lights out in a building for safety reasons. If you have
incandescent lamps anywhere in your building, they can be susceptible to
vibration of slamming doors or machines being turned on and off. These are also great lamps to be used
in industrial situations on machines or in areas where manufacturing is going
on. There
are so many situations where these bulbs can be used because most
people want their light bulbs to last longer.
