Nothing touches up a room like special kinds of lighting which add a decorative element to the living space.  That's why we make all kinds of decorative light bulbs that will make an impact almost anywhere they're used.  Most people are familiar with chandelier bulbs which mimic the look of a candle flame.  They generally have two different bases, medium (household base) and candelabra which is the smaller or E12 base.  You'll need to check your fixture or current bulb to know which one you have already.  The "B" shape was one of the first designs and continues to be the one most people use.  They fit in almost any light fixture, but one of the most common places they're used are in chandeliers, table lamps, sconce lighting and a myriad of other places.  Because of the small size, it gave designers more flexibility in creating fixtures that would be smaller as well.  There are different variations which are known generally as B10, C7, torpedo, bent tip, flame type, flicker bulbs and globes.

Incandescent lamps are the type that were developed earliest of any of the other kinds and some of these became decorative light bulbs.  There are some various colors and sizes as well, so it's important to identify these correctly with the right wattage, base and color on occasion.  These are some of the aspects of these lamps you'll need to know if you call in or if you're looking for them on our web site.  In our online shopping cart, they are grouped in logical shapes of decorative.  Find the shape you have and the wattage then you should be most of the way there in knowing exactly what bulb you have.  In determining the shape of decorative globe light bulbs, you will need to know the diameter of the globe at it's largest point.  If it's 5 inches, then it's measured in 1/8ths of an inch, so that would be 40/8 or 5 inches.  That means that you have a G40 globe.  It's that simple and this measuring system holds true for many other products in lighting.

Lately, people have been concerned about the kind of light they're working under or living under.  That's why so many people are turning to what is called full spectrum lighting. The term full spectrum is most often used when referring to fluorescents that simulate natural outdoor light. By definition, virtually all fluorescent light bulbs are full spectrum in that they contain some of all colors in their spectral range. Full spectrum fluorescents are a great option to get better natural lighting in standard shapes, but for decorative light bulbs, it's the Chromalux decorative full spectrum.  It's an decorative incandescent with special coatings that has the warmer tones filtered out. However, the term "full spectrum" is primarily used when referring to those lamps that fall into the white to blue/white color temperature range.  Most full spectrum incandescent light bulbs use a blue coating which you can see when you look at it unlit.
