The method of labelling projector light bulbs is quite nice as it makes it very easy for the end user to find out what bulb they need. The only thing you need to look for is a three letter code somewhere on your bulb or on the projector. Some popular examples are EKE, EXN, DAB, CXL, and FAB. There are numerous different styles of projector lamps available, and it is really important to match the bulbs when you get a replacement. If you don't, the base, the size of the bulb, the wattage, the voltage, or some other important element would most likely not match and the new bulb would not work the same (or at all). In some cases, two or three letter codes have been combined by the manufacturer, in which case it is perfectly acceptable to use to replace either of the previous versions of the bulb.
