Lighting Library : Other Halogen : R30 Halogen Flood Light Bulbs

One of the most commonly used flood light bulbs in the lighting industry has been the R30.  It's been used in everything and probably in places it shouldn't be used, but because it's inexpensive, people do this. But now comes a new wrinkle in this type of light, they now come in a halogen version.  What does that mean?  The manufacturers have put a halogen capsule in the R30 shell and got a whole great new result.  Now the size flood you're used to is brighter and whiter, making it once again, a great replacement for older style of incandescent lamps.  The wattages are 60 or 75 watt versions and sometimes called the 60R30/H or 75R30/H flood lights.  The brand we carry are by far the most superior product on the market which is the Westinghouse Halomax Spectralite.  They fit anywhere a regular R30 lamp will, including the eyeball fixtures which can turn in almost any direction.  For most installations, they are used in recessed lighting with a 4 inch opening and can be dimmed with a standard incandescent dimmer.  In many types of lighting applications, the dimming capability is what makes it a wonderful choice for dining rooms, kitchens or high ceiling lighting for large rooms.  The places where the R30 halogen flood light bulbs can be used are endless and sometimes includes recessed or track lighting as a popular option in retail lighting situations.  For retailers, these are one of the best new options giving a soft light while gaining a whiter light. The R30 is 3.75 inches across the face if you're measuring it for identification purposes and they have a standard medium base too.

Many businesses are looking for ways to save energy, just look for areas where you might use R30 incandescent light bulbs and find the right replacement on our web site.  This R30 halogen flood light would be a natural as a replacement.  You will find a great reduction in your electrical bill while still getting the amount of light that you want.  Be aware that using these on a dimmer will work just fine, but you will need turn them on full light output on occasion to properly complete the halogen cycle in the lamp itself.  There is a nice reduction going to a halogen source and you will get the added benefit of getting better lighting as well.  We can't emphasize enough the improvement in the light itself.  Many people would describe it as a cleaner light, making things look better.  If you're a retail store with track or recessed lighting, then this will bring out color of the products you want to sell.  This light really is a winner when it comes to replacing the old style incandescent lamps.

Keep in mind that there are a few types of incandescent R30 halogen flood light bulbs, we describe some of the most common used in commercial lighting or for your home here.  The brand we have is the Westinghouse Halomax Spectralite version.  Whatever type you have, you will be getting a longer life incandescent than what you're used to, getting the most light you can for your money.  We have a large inventory of flood bulbs for all types of light fixtures in use today.  If you need help identifying an flood light bulb, our customer service representatives can help you determine what you have.
