Whether at home or in commercial spaces, people have always wanted bulbs to last longer and not have to
change them so often, that's why we offer R30 long life flood light bulbs as a
part of our product offering. This types has been common to almost every type of lighting application
with either recessed or track lighting. These
are the R30 size bulbs which you might be familiar with, the ones you've
probably bought for years in hardware stores and are 3.75 inches inches across the
face. They fit in almost any recessed light fixture, except for very small
fixtures. One of the most common places that it's used
are in recessed lighting for homes or track lighting for retail stores. If you have this kind of lamp
in a retail situation,
you may want to consider using a PAR halogen to replace it. The light will
be more intense and crisp while saving energy. In that case, it's really about
the highlighting your products for more sales. The R30
flood lights come in 65 or 85 watts referenced as
65BR30 or 85BR30. These come typically in a wide flood beam pattern,
rarely in a spot beam which would be a tighter light pattern.
It's a long history with this lamp and most of the improvements
have come with longer life versions of these bulbs. The long life flood bulbs are the same physical size
as other flood lamps but have multiple filament supports that protect
against vibration and rough use. In fact, these are sometimes called rough
service or vibration service bulbs. If you're a commercial user, then R30 long life
flood light bulbs would be a great choice for many of the applications you
have today. Large commercial buildings are still a major user of this lamp
where the labor to change out bulbs can get quite expensive. If you have
incandescent lamps anywhere in your building, they can be susceptible to
vibration in elevators, slamming doors or machines being turned on and off.
In fact, one of the most common applications in a building is the hallway
ceiling, you'll see them there and so you can see why vibration resistance would
be essential with all the activity. Another savings to keep in mind, is
that your maintenance people won't be changing bulbs as often, that means a
labor savings as well. With added labor savings, your people can take care
of more pressing issues rather than a light bulb going out. For people who want to save
energy while getting longer life, the R30 compact fluorescent would be a good
way to go. You can get a similar amount of light while reducing your
electrical consumption by 75%. Many times there are utility rebates which
can help with the total cost, but even without the rebates, energy savings make
it a quick payback.
