If you are looking to save money each month from your company's bottom line, consider using one of our Sylvania Metalarc 175 watt light bulbs. No other type of bulb can match what a Metal Halide can do in providing high quality efficient lighting. While the technical term for the bulb is M175/U, they are called 175 watt Metal Halide bulbs or 175 watt Metalarc bulbs. Bulbs made by other manufacturers might be referred to as Multi-Vapor. On average, these type of bulbs will produce 80 lumens for each watt of electricity. Compare that to a standard incandescent 100 watt bulb which provides about 15 lumens per watt, and you can start seeing the financial benefits of this bulb right away.

Take a drive around town and you may come across a spot with two fuel stations right next to one another. One station has an orange or yellow tint in its lighting; the other has bright white color. If you are like most people, you will tend to choose the station with the bright white light. Metal Halide bulbs are most likely the source of the nice, bright, white light. This one simple choice can mean a lot to a store who is fighting for every customer. In another scenario, imagine the new medical facility you are working in has Metal Halide lighting. The paperwork you use will be clear and visible, the many products on the shelf will be easier to see, and gauges will be read reliably.

One of the recognizable physical features of this bulb is its unique shape. It is a bulb-within-a-bulb, meaning that the smaller bulb, viewed where the filament of a light bulb typically is, creates the light, while the surrounding glass serves to keep the unique mix of inert gasses surrounding the center tube. The bulb produces light by allowing energy to pass through the arc tube, heating up ements of the bulb and producing the visible light. Metal Halide lighting contains technology designed to provide the highest light output with the lowest possible energy consumption, all in a pleasing white color. This model has a large base, called a mogul base or E39 base. The bulb is offered in a clear glass design standard and is available in a coated design as well for a more even light spread.

You might have heard that these types of light bulbs show color very poorly. Actually, the Sylvania Metalarc 175 watt light bulb proves that false. The CRI of the bulb is 70, meaning the color quality of this Metal Halide bulb is comparable to standard fluorescent lighting. You wont have to sacrifice performance and excellence to save money each month on energy. The M175/U truly gives you both.

If you are a user of Philips Switch Start Metal Halide MH175 bulbs or GE MVR175 Multi Vapor bulbs, you would be an ideal candidate to upgrade to the Sylvania Metalarc line of products. Sylvania puts the most energy and effort into quality control, consistently providing better performance and fewer premature failures than its competition. When you get Sylvania quality along with the Service Lighting level of service, and youve got a really great lighting solution.
